Privacy Notice
Draft — last updated 2026-09-03 · pending legal review
ANTE handles two kinds of data: public posts we collect from X to build records, and account data from people who sign in. This notice says what we keep, for how long, and why. Short version: we read only what is already public, we never read private messages, and we don't sell anything.
What we store from public X posts
For creators whose public calls we track, we collect through X's public interfaces and licensed data providers:
- Post text — the words of the public post, plus any chart image attached to it (we read price levels off charts, with a provenance flag on the record).
- Timestamps — when the post was published. The post time is the entry time for the call, so it is central to the grade.
- Engagement counts — likes, reposts, replies and views where X exposes them, at the time we fetched the post.
- Author metadata — the X user id, handle, display name, avatar, bio, follower count and verification status, as shown on the public profile.
We do not read direct messages, protected or private accounts, drafts, or anything that requires the author's login to see. Our access is to public content only.
Why we collect it
To detect trade calls in public posts, grade each call against price data, and publish the resulting record and score with its receipts. Engagement counts and author metadata help us decide which accounts to track and let readers see who made a call and how visible it was. The method is at /ante-score.
Retention
- Posts that back a published record are kept for as long as that record is published. We keep an archived copy of the original post text from the moment we collected it, so that a later edit or deletion on X cannot silently change a graded call. The archived text is shown on the call's public receipt.
- Posts with no call in them are not published. They may be kept for a period so that re-processing under a newer method can re-check them, and are deleted in routine cleanup after that.
- Score history is append-only: every published value is kept, with the method version that produced it.
- Removal of a whole record — for impersonation, accounts that never posted calls, or a valid legal request — follows the policy at /corrections. When a record is removed, the posts behind it are deleted from our systems.
Account data for signed-in users
If you create an account we store what you give us and what is needed to run it:
- Email address — for magic-link or password sign-in, account notices, and any alerts you opt into.
- X user id and handle — when you claim a creator profile with X sign-in, so we can match you to the public record that is already yours. We receive only what X's sign-in shares; we do not get your X password and we cannot post as you.
- Google account id — if you sign in with Google, the id and email Google shares with us.
- Profile and activity — display name, avatar, bio, the calls you post natively, follows, subscriptions and corrections you submit.
- Payments — if you pay for anything, our payment processor (Stripe) handles card details. We never see or store full card numbers; we keep the subscription status and a customer reference.
- Push notifications — if you enable them, a device subscription token so we can deliver alerts you asked for.
Account data is kept while your account is open and deleted within 30 days of you closing it, except where we must keep it (for example, payment records) or where it forms part of a public record that stays under the removal policy.
Cookies and analytics
We set a session cookie so you stay signed in. We do not use advertising cookies. [Analytics provider, if any, and what it records — to be confirmed at legal review.]
Who we share data with
- Service providers that run the site for us — hosting, database, email delivery, payment processing, market-price data and X data providers — under contracts that limit them to working for us.
- The public, for the record itself: the post text, timestamp, author handle and the graded outcome are published by design.
- Legal requests — where we are legally required to, or to protect the service and its users.
We do not sell personal data and we do not share it with advertisers.
Your choices
You can ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or close your account. If a public record names you, the ways to dispute a call or request removal are at /corrections. Depending on where you live you may have further rights under local law; write to us and we will honour them.
Children
ANTE is not for anyone under 18 and we do not knowingly hold account data about them. If you believe we do, tell us and we will delete it.
Changes
We will update this notice as the service changes and date each revision at the top of the page.
